Welcome

Welcome to Northwest Baptist Church!  We are glad that you are visiting us, and hope that we can encourage you in some way while you are here on our website.

UPDATE:  Lord willing, we will soon become Great Commission Reformed Church.  More details on the way soon!

The Blessing of Forgiveness

We hope that you have already received forgiveness by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. But if you are not sure, please know that anyone who believes in him is fully and forever forgiven of all sins.   To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” (Acts 10:43)  We all have done things we regret, but we can all be saved by believing in Christ. Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.” (John 5:24)  Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved! If you would like to know more about forgiveness in Christ, please go here, or call or write us. We would be glad to meet with you to share this good news.

Are you looking for a church?

The main reason people go to church websites is to look for a church to visit, or perhaps join. If this describes you, we would like to share a couple things with you. If you are already a member of another church, and are desiring to move your attendance, please go here. We would encourage all members of churches to remain where they are and pursue the bonds of unity, love and fellowship.  Paul said, ” I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Eph 4:1-3)

If you are not currently a member (or regular attender) of a church, and are looking, we have a very simple question to ask you. Do you want to grow in Christ? Our mission is to make, baptize and train disciples (Matt 28:18-20). We desire that all disciples in our church grow in their maturity by being trained biblically. We don’t have programs as we don’t believe they reflect the biblical model of ministry as seen in the New Testament. We would love to have you visit with us to learn more about how disciples are trained at NWBC. You can learn more about this by going here. Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. (Col 1:28-29)  You can also call and write to us if you would like more information.

Our Lord’s Day Together

For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere (Psalm 84:10)

It is our great honor and joy to meet together in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, every Lord’s Day. We believe that when we assemble, and for as long as we are assembled, we are in the Holy of Holies, and in the presence of our Lord. (Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus…Heb 10:19)  We believe that his word governs how we are to assemble, and so we seek his grace to only do that which is prescribed in his word. Our assembly begins at 10:00AM, and we remain together for much of the day. We pray, sing, read and hear the word, listen to preaching, take communion, and have a love feast together. We stir one another up to love and good works. We sometimes baptize on the Lord’s Day. It is a lovely day for wherein we are blessed by our Savior. They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. (Psalm 36:8)  Naturally, if you are visiting with us, you could take part in as little or as much as you like.

A Final Word About NWBC

We are not a perfect church. (You probably knew that already.) We are all sinners who’ve received the free grace of God, through faith in Jesus Christ. Because of him alone, we are saved, we are justified, we are made righteous in standing, we are forgiven. Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God (Romans 5:1-2).  And although we strive to only do things which are prescribed in God’s word, we will fail from time to time. Forgive us for that and pray that our Father in Heaven would cause us to walk in ways pleasing to him, to his glory alone. For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen..(Rom 11:36)

We hope that you visit us one Lord’s Day, and if you do, we show you the love of Christ according to his word. May you be welcomed, blessed and refreshed in the presence of our Lord.
